Plants that attract butterflies and bees

This Great Spangled Fritillary Speyeria cybele visited the garden on July 18. At first glance I thought it was a Monarch but when I got closer I could see that it was smaller and its markings are quite different. Apparently its larvae feed on native violets (Viola) and the eggs are laid nearby. I planted wild blue and white violets in the garden several years ago. It was on the sweet oregano plant which is in bloom by mid-July. There are lots of bees of all kinds in the garden these days as well.
