Echinacea is drought-tolerant perennial with low-water needs once it is established, like Bearded Iris, Day Lilies, Echinacea, Lavender, Sedum, Gaillardia, Rudbeckia and Phlox, to name only a few.

Companion plants for coneflowers include bee balm, Sedum Autumn Joy and Blazing star (Liatris spicata).
